COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE WORKS CASTRO, BY ANTÓNIO FERREIRA, AND A BOBA, BY MARIA ESTELA GUEDES, TO UNDERSTAND THE CRISIS OF MODERN THEATER

Abstract

Theater, like any other artistic or socio-cultural manifestation, has engaged in a dialogue with the needs that society experiences when texts or other documents are produced. The 20th century, according to Szondi (2001), was marked by a subjective experience focused on the individual himself, in which he was concerned with issues related to his own condition and the influence of external factors, as was the case of economics and politics in your life. We will try to establish a comparison between a classic text and a modern text, in order to list differences in style and genre between these two categories. To this end, a theoretical survey was carried out on the trajectory of drama from antiquity to the modern crisis, and then two works Castro, by António Ferreira, of a more traditional character, and A Boba, by Maria Estela Guedes, were selected
