Abstract
Introduction: Primary Health Care is the setting for patient guidance, in Brazil, it has the function of coordinating care within the health care network, and in addition, it has the representation of a social and sanitary struggle, which was responsible for changing the reality of many people’s health. The primary care responsibility is to prevent and promote the health of the community, in addition to other tasks. Primary care can be offered in different ways, in the own health units, non-home or in the form of therapeutic groups. Objective: To describe the process of caring for therapeutic groups in primary care. Methodology: Study of integrative literature review, with articles published in the period from 2016 to 2020, in English, Spanish and Spanish, in the realization and full reading of 12 materials on the theme, found on the Google Scholar digital platform. Results: It was noticed that there is a great demand for care in primary care, and therefore, therapeutic groups is a strategy to reduce this demand, and provide collective activities in groups that have some unusual or not, such as: group of HiperDia, with a public of hypertensive and diabetic, or a group of pregnant women, or even, a group for complementary integrative practices. What has been understood is that therapeutic groups can change a social reality, placing the subject in the lead in the care of their health. Final Considerations: In primary care, it is necessary to have several ways to meet the needs of the community, therapeutic groups do this process. It is important that health professionals are trained and seek to improve their activities developed in the territory.
