Abstract

The use of technology has revolutionized communication in different parts of the world, and within this context indigenous peoples also has appropriated the different tools to communicate and seek ways to benefit their communities. Despite the benefits that provides accessibility, one of the greatest difficulties in the use of technology is to keep the traditions , cultures and especially the mother tongue, and this is a motivation for some leaders do not support the entry of these resources in their communities, therefore, necessary the training of educators to develop strategies that enable not only know the ICT and its importance as a pedagogical tool, but its use in the process of valuing cultural and linguistic diversity of indigenous peoples of Roraima. This paper proposes rethinking the process of revaluation of indigenous cultural through ICTs. Assuming that commitment, the work aims to study the training of teachers in ICT Indigenous State School Genial Makushi Thomé, community - RR Vista Alegre, focusing on the teacher as the primary agent of transformation. The work allowed the computer training and use of ICTs in the school context and appreciation of indigenous culture in order to propose new methodological strategies for teacher planning. Thus, from the struggle for indigenous education differentiated in the State and of the projects to implement improvements in this area, to the entrance of ICTs in Indigenous education, was analyzed by means of questioning the degree of importance of teacher training through computer workshop. In the educational environment of the community, the information available through literature search and analysis of data collected from interviews with the teachers reported and propose new methodologies using ICTs as a tool powerful mechanism for education and further appreciation of indigenous culture.
